Antonio Mejia graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Texas at Tyler and is currently pursuing an MBA from Rice University in the class of 2023. He joined BASF in 2014 supporting the company’s work with customers in the Chemical Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) space as a laboratory chemist. In 2016, he transitioned to supporting customer projects focused on application of BASF’s complement of production and stimulation additives – mainly with paraffin control. Then, in 2019, he assumed the role of Technology Manager for BASF’s product line designed for oil-water separation, wellbore stimulation, and standard additives - including biocides, H2S scavengers, friction reducers and corrosion inhibitors. Today, he manages the global technical service activities and leads related product development, customer qualification, and industrial plant scale up for the business line within his purview. He is routinely working with customers in the Middle East, North America, and South America – and is based out of Houston, Texas.
